National Holiday – January 26 Republic Day
Republic Day is a National holiday in India, when the country marks and celebrates the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950, replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India and thus, turning the nation into a newly formed republic.
Republic Day Celebrate
All citizens of India are entitled to enjoy certain privileges on Republic Day, including a public holiday in which the country marks and celebrates the date on.
Every year, Republic Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm, pomp and show all across the country. The celebrations start from the evening of 25th January with cultural programs in Delhi. On Republic Day morning, there are military parades at Rajpath and other parade grounds in New Delhi where contingents from all three services of the Indian military display their skills and march past in front of the President of India.
Republic Day Parade
The main event takes place at noon when the President takes the salute at Rajpath as he stands on the dais in front of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The parade showcases India’s latest defense technologies such as tanks, missiles, armored vehicles, artillery guns and aircrafts which are then followed.
